■ About Kim Hwan-ki

Painter Kim Hwan-ki (1913-1974) is a pioneer of Korean abstract art and one of the representative painters of Korean art in the 20th century. Previously, when a museum asked 37 domestic critics about the "representative writer of modern and contemporary Korea," 18 people chose him.

■ Kim Hwankis "우주"

It is the only masterpiece produced in two widths among Kim Hwan-kis works, making him deeply feel the lyricism of nature and the mystery of vast cosmic space.

This work was completed in New York in the 1970s, and was sold for about 13.19 billion won at Christies auction in Hong Kong in November 2019, recording the first work in the history of Korean art to exceed 10 billion won.

This work was produced with copyright approval from the Ventilation Foundation, and is the first NFT work registered as an official archive. About 100,000 dots filling the screen in a whirlpool move slowly around the rotation axis through digital work, conveying the colorful spectrum and infinite depth of the original work more realistically, and reproducing the sublime beauty unique to Kim Hwan-kis front lighting.
